Her focus is on awareness of the harmonious and graceful weaving of these various practices through the heart of movement.
The following workshops are available:
Yoga and the Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique is a 100-year-old work that benefits people on all levels of life and practice. It is a practice of consciousness and movement that enhances grace and interweaves with Yoga practice to provide deep transformation, improving coordination, balance, and energy. Through lecture-demonstration and hands-on work, the principles and practices of the Alexander Technique will be experienced within the Yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation.
Yoga and the Chakras
Learn to activate your own growth, healing, creativity, and expression through an exploration of sounds, colors, energies, elements, scents, crystals, and gemstones associated with the chakras. Vimala Devi's work with the chakra energies through color, and sound, and movement in workshops taught in the United States and internationally gives her a unique perspective and deep wisdom to share. The Yoga Dance that comes out of this exploration will be each persona's own creation and discovery.
Open to the Heart of Movement
This workshop will energize the flow of asana into breath, movement, and dance, exploring stretch and spaciousness both within the body and into movement. We will move from the heart center into dynamic movement and rhythm. The coordination of breath and movement into flowing dance and expression allows the asana practice to develop into a moment-by-moment awareness of stillness in movement and movement in stillness.
