The Zen Shinji Center teaches the Long Yang style of T'ai Chi Chüan. It involves 108 movements, divided into three sections, as taught by Gerda Geddes. Gerda Geddes studied in China for ten years with a student of Yang Cheng-fu, the grandson of the founder of the Yang style. She has been teaching these Eastern practices since 1988 and includes Taoist teachings and healing meditations in her movement practices.

Breath and Visualization Teachings

Drawing from years of practice of Yoga , in all its myriad forms, most specifically Raja, and Hatha and Bhakti , Ms. Komo teaches ways of accessing, clearing and enlivening the chakras through colour, sound, movement and meditation.

There are also many mantra and mandala practices from both Yoga and Buddhist teachings that can help to access more open and clear states of consciousness, Along with basic sitting meditation practices, Ms Komo has developed movement meditation and sound practices that open the channels of energy for deeper , more transformational healing .As a dancer, she encourages people to be embodied and co-ordinated in their access to spiritual practices so there can be a fully integrated and grounded connection to various states of awareness.

Jin Shin Jyutsu®

In Jin Shin Jyutsu, the practitioner gently places fingertips on various body points, restoring balance in particular energy pathways. Jin Shin Jyutsu is a valuable complement to conventional healing methods. It boosts our own profound healing capacities and thus promotes optimal health, well-being and vitality. Sumi Komo has been involved with Jin Shin Jyutsu since 1988.
